Search tips

Where do I begin my research?

Begin with the information you have been given by your supervisor.

You should have:

  • a silent mentor name
  • a service number
  • a rank
  • a unit.

These are all good starting points.

As you dig deeper into your research, write down any additional information you find such as decorations, battles, campaigns, date and place of embarkation, place of birth and residence. Use these to expand your search.
